The pop star made ripples in the pop music scene, while simultaneously creating a niche in the fashion circuit. With outfits made out of meat to inflatable dresses, she has done it all. Of course, all of this makes sense to her as she puts it, “I often get asked about my artifice, but isn't fashion based on the idea that we can create a fantasy?” Not only this, her fans also expect her to do the unexpected and she delivers as is evident from these outrageous outfits she has donned over the years.
THE Meat DRESS
This dress is right at the top when it comes to Lady Gaga’s outrageous fashion choices. The dress worn by the pop star at the 2010 Video Music awards was made up of raw meat with matching shoes. The dress is now on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The challenging part was preserving the dress, made out of Argentine beef, before making it a part of the exhibit. It took professional taxidermists and several months’ worth of work to prep it.
The Star
She is a star in every right and now literally too. The Born This Way star picked this dress to party in Paris, after a concert. This was an inflatable dress that she had paired with black tights and shocking orange stilettos.
Bubble effect
Yes, you are looking at a white short dress leaving a trail of bubbles. Lady Gaga donned this attire after her performance in Roundhouse, London, as a part of the iTunes Festival. The dress is essentially a bunch of bubble-making machines. She paired this ‘bubbly’ dress with round colorful glasses and a nose ring.
Coffee filters, anyone?
‘I am recycling’, is what the pop sensation said about her coffee filter dress. She wore the blanket-sized dress for her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She paired the ‘snow-white’ dress with a huge oversized hat and platform trainers. The dress covered every inch of her body and she joked that she was wearing it to cover her recent weight gain from binging on Barbecues during her visit to Texas.

Then, in 2011, she opened her VMA performance, while sporting a combed back hairstyle with thick sideburns, wearing a pair of jeans, T-shirt and a blazer. Not only this, Lady Gaga was in character, even after the performance was over. It is evident that this particular look is close to her heart.
Each and every outfit that Lady Gaga puts on is a statement in itself. It speaks to her as much as it speaks about her.
